The Union encourages members to sign up for upcoming Retirement Seminars presented through CUPE BC. These are three day seminars designated to help you prepare for retirement. You don’t have to be contemplating retirement within the next year to attend. Attendance fees are paid for by the Local Union on a one time basis. Spouses are encouraged to attend as well. Call the Union Office ( 604 940-8596 ) and have your name put on the waiting list. We will keep you informed of the dates of upcoming seminars as we receive them. |

CUPE Education The union movement grew out of the struggle of working people to improve their lives. Union education is, or should be, based in that struggle. It's about developing the knowledge, will and confidence of the membership to defend their rights and the rights of others. It's about recognizing shop floor, picket line and community activism as significant educational experiences. It's about developing the awareness and confidence that can change the world. Union education is a collective — as opposed to competitive — experience. |
